Where are the limits of high temperature magnets?
Time:02/01/2023
Usually high temperature resistant magnets are prevalent on the market, which materials of magnets have high temperature resistance properties? How high temperatures can it withstand?
1
Magnets are mainly divided into two categories, "forever magnets" and "non-forever magnets". Eternal magnets can be natural products, also known as natural magnets, or artificially manufactured (strong magnets are neodymium magnets). Non-permanent magnets, which only need to be magnetic under certain conditions, are usually generated as electromagnets, that is, the application of electric current to strengthen their magnetic field.

The limits of high temperature resistant magnets

Permanent magnets are divided into magnets of various materials, including NdFeB magnets, ferrite magnets, Alnico magnets, etc. As far as Xiaobian knows, samarium cobalt magnets can not change the magnetic force in high temperature environment, and the high temperature working environment that can withstand is much higher than 500 °C-600 °C. Obviously, the meaning of high-temperature resistant magnets is a magnet that can maintain the magnetic force in a high-temperature environment.

Can the high temperature that the high-temperature magnet can withstand reach 600 °C? For example, ferrite permanent magnet 450 °C, NdFeB 310 °C, samarium cobalt 750 °C, Alnico 850 °C. If this temperature is exceeded, the magnetic properties will deteriorate unreliably. Within the operating high temperature, the magnetic properties also tend to decrease, which is related to the relevant working nodes. Beyond 1500 degrees, ablation and demagnetization will appear. High-temperature magnets are mostly used in missiles.
