Rare Earth Doped Materials Preparation and Luminescence Properties

This thesis, first, a review of the rare-earth doped luminescent materials and research status of the development process, and introduced the rare-earth doped luminescent materials emitting mechanism, special nature, classification, research and characterization methods, preparation methods and application prospects.Secondly, the use of hydrothermal and combustion method, rare-earth doped oxides were synthesized and characterized nanomaterials samples.Finally, we microemulsion solvothermal synthesis of Eu3 + ions doped one-dimensional nanorods and micron bar BaF2, and compared them to study their luminescent properties.
The results of this thesis:

we use the hydrothermal synthesis of Y2O3: Er3 +, Yb3 +, results show that after annealing at 1200 ℃ the sample belongs to cubic structure, the morphology of the rod, a diameter of about 100nm, length of the micron level, no reuniongood distribution.In the 980nm LD excitation, the sample to achieve the blue (408 nm), green (520 ~ 570 nm) and red (650 ~ 670 nm) upconversion luminescence, corresponding radiative transition belong 2H9 / 2 → 4I15 / 2,2H11 / 2,4 S3 / 2 → 4I15 / 2 and 4F9 / 2 → 4I15 / 2 and so on.(B) we use the combustion synthesis of Y2O3: Er3 +, Gd3 +, Yb3 +, results show that at different annealing temperature synthesized samples belong to the cubic phase, and confirmed by combustion can be prepared without complex phase of the Y2O3: Er3 +, Gd3 +, Yb3 + nanocrystals.The 978nm laser excitation, Y2O3: Er3 +, Gd3 +, Yb3 + nanocrystals achieved blue-green (490nm), green (510 ~ 572nm) and red (630 ~ 710nm) upconversion luminescence, corresponding radiative transition belong to 4F7/ 2 → 4I15 / 2,2 H11 / 2,4 S3 / 2 → 4I15 / 2 and 4F9 / 2 → 4I15 / 2 and so on.With the increase of annealing temperature, the sample emission intensity gradually increased with the trend.But if we consider the actual conditions of industrial production and energy consumption, select the annealing temperature is 800 ℃ may be more efficient.
(C) we use the micro-emulsion solvent thermal synthesis of BaF2: Eu-micron rods and BaF2: Eu nanorods, the results show that: the sample is free of impurities of the single-phase crystals; micron rods are three-dimensional structure, and is one-dimensional nanorodsstructure; in the UV light excitation, the luminescence properties of the sample with the previous report of BaF2: Eu nanocrystals is different.Defect on the sample surface PL nanorods have a great impact on the process, the sample surface defects will weaken the relative luminescence intensity of nanorods.
