Distribution and sales of neodymium magnets in Xiamen, China
Time:02/15/2023
Neodymium magnet is the most widely used rare earth material in rare earth elements, and it has high utilization efficiency in the motors of automobiles and electric vehicles, but its application in motor drive systems is subject to some conditions. Neodymium magnets can be divided into neodymium magnets for automobiles, neodymium magnets for electric vehicles and amorphous rare earth materials according to their use. Neodymium magnetic functional materials are mainly used in the field of NdFeB permanent magnet materials. Among them, NdFeB magnets have the largest production and consumption, accounting for about 85% of the total global production of permanent magnet materials (2007).

Xiamen is one of the world's largest NdFeB permanent magnet material production bases, mainly manufacturing permanent magnet alloys, such as various high-performance NdFeB permanent magnet alloys, samarium cobalt and other products. There are many NdFeB rare earth magnetic material enterprises in Xiamen. With the continuous improvement of the concentration of China's rare earth industry and the acceleration of the internationalization process of China's rare earth enterprises, the output and consumption structure of rare earth magnetic materials in China have undergone obvious changes, and the output and sales scale of domestic large-scale enterprises have continued to grow. In 2015 Chinese mainland total production capacity of neodymium magnets was about 165,000 tons, the output was 137,000 tons (including about 60,000 tons outside Xiamen Island), and the sales volume was 92,000 tons (about 25,000 tons outside Xiamen Island). According to statistics, in 2015, the national output of permanent magnet products (NdFeB magnets and samarium cobalt magnets) was 129,000 tons. Among them, the output outside Xiamen Island is 56,000 tons (including 25,000 tons in Haicang District); the total output of domestic permanent magnet products is 80,000 tons (excluding Xiamen area). In the global NdFeB magnetic materials industry.
