Application of small magnet in AGV automatic navigation robot
Time:03/10/2023
Recently ChatGPT has become popular overnight, but as a professional magnetic product magnetic sensor supplier, today we are going to talk about the application of magnetic sensor in AGV automatic navigation robot.
未标题 4
AGV automatic navigation robot is basically composed of guidance module, walking module, guidance sensor, microprocessor, communication device, battery and so on. The guidance sensor is the basis of modern AGV. All the actions of AGV without human interference come from the perception of the external things of the guidance sensor, so the sensor technology is a very important part of the AGV technology. Among the guidance methods of AGV automatic guide vehicle, there is magnetic guidance method, which adopts the fixed route guidance method of magnetic sensor + gyroscope. Its working principle is to use the special magnetic position sensor to detect the small NdFeB magnet installed on the ground, and then use the gyroscope technology to continuously control the running direction of AGV. In this way, a pair of small magnets are installed at intervals of 5 to 10 meters on the ground along the guide path. The AGV system uses Hall element as a microprocessor sensor to detect the magnetic field. When the AGV passes through the small magnet on the road surface, the Hall sensor will give the X and Y coordinates of the AGV. The gyroscope is a solid state angular rate sensor, whose output voltage is proportional to the speed of the sensitive shaft, so as to determine the direction of the AGV's operation. It is understood that if the use of high quality sensor components, magnet + gyroscope guidance system has a very high accuracy, some can reach ±3 mm. At the same time, the use of standard components can greatly reduce the cost, its cost is much lower than the electromagnetic induction guide. Therefore, this way is very suitable for the occasions where the guide cable cannot be buried.

At present, AGV autonomous navigation robots are the main hot market for sensor applications. It can be seen that small neodymium magnets are indispensable in the future field of AI commercialization
